Students rarely receive a "full-ride" scholarship to college.  Applying for outside scholarships such as those listed on the Piper High School Scholarship Bulletin will help close the gap between financial aid and family financial responsibility. Scholarships are available for ALL types of students with and without financial need.  There are scholarships for students with special talents, who live in a specific city, were born in different countries, are active in temples and churches, live with medical illness or disabilities, are interested in specific careers or are from different ethnic backgrounds. There is also

free tuition available to students who have been adopted, are living in foster care, or in shelters.

The scholarship bulletin is updated on a monthly basis during the school year.  It is posted on-line, emailed to those who have joined our email list, printed and placed on bulletin boards located in the Guidance Office as well as the College & Career Center located in Room 135.

The descriptions of the scholarships on the bulletin are brief.  Always read the actual scholarship application in order to understand specific eligibility requirements.  See or Email your BRACE Advisor for application materials (if stated on criteria).  This is not a complete listing of all scholarship opportunities.  Check other sources such as the Internet, employers, and the college or technical school you plan on attending.  Pay close attention to scholarship deadlines, never pay to apply for a scholarship, and do not divulge personal information such as your social security number!

When a student is awarded a scholarship, they must contact Mrs. Orris via email or in person and provide proof of the award.  Those who do will be acknowledged during Senior Awards Night in May 2014.
